Constellate of Future Music
Jump!Star has sparked an extraordinary body of original music created by remarkable artists:
Future Love Sibanda (Vienna)
Future Love Sibanda is a remarkable vocalist currently touring internationally with Hans Zimmer. He composed Are You Ready, the song that opens each evening’s ceremony. Though Future Love could not be with us—passport holders from Zimbabwe have been denied visas under the Trump administration—his voice launched both evenings of Jump!Star’s ceremony in both joy and protest.
Mirah (NYC)
Beloved indie-pop musician Mirah contributed three original songs to Jump!Star, including the anthem that drives our Axial Precession Procession of the Future North Star Sculptures. Her music guides us through the project’s unfolding story: Hello Star, Axial Precession and Goodbye Song.
Jee Sim (Berlin)
Jee Sim created unique “Sound Signatures” for each of our Future North Stars. These sonic constellations form the foundation for The People’s Dance Experiment, a playful riff on traditional barn dancing performed live with caller Virginia Varland.
Jherek Bischoff (Los Angeles)
Composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist Jherek Bischoff has composed a sweeping original Jump!Star Symphony in five movements—Census, Cosmic Ocean, Inland Sea, Polaris, and Precessions—which had its world premiere by the Richmond Symphony on Friday night of Super!Giant!Jump!Star!
