The Capo headdresses used in the Axial Precession Procession were designed by Megan Miller and Hallie Linnebur of Kansas, and Alan Calpe of New York. Alan also designed the Capo gowns, sewn by Aunt Mimi Troisi of central Pennsylvania.

Aunt Mimi also sewed all 150 Dark Matter vests worn by volunteers in the Axial Precession procession. The vest patterns were designed by Alan Calpe, using imagery that emerged from a community workshop organized by Harvester Arts at Wichita State University. In that workshop, participants drew the beloved objects they wished to carry forward into the future. These drawings were then transformed into cyanotypes, created with the light of our nearest star—the Sun.
