⚡ G-SUS Unit
The folks in the General Services Utilities & Supplies Unit are the behind-the-scenes day-savers when it comes to installing and transporting the Future North Star sculptures:
Mike Miller (Wichita, KS) is a kinetic sculptor who designed all the lightweight bases for the sculptures using his engineering experience and his experience as a sailor. Kinetic sculptor and sailor; engineered the lightweight bases.
Dave Herman (NYC & Cold Spring, NY) meticulously wired the sculptures for battery power in their first inception in Kansas. Dave is the founder of the City Reliquary Museum in Brooklyn, NY.
John Orth (Brooklyn & Maine) is a remarkable artist and VCU MFA who did all of the lovely detailed painting on the Alderamin sculptures and functions as assistant director to the live part of the program.
Nick Troisi (Unityville, PA ) is a jack of all trades, MacGyver-type who has designed and built his own house and most of the furniture in it, as well as elaborate idiosyncratic machines, and playhouses that are the envy of children everywhere.
Keil Troisi (Sunbury, PA & NYC) is an activist, filmmaker and master prankster who has been documenting the process of Jump!Star and swooping in to pick up materials, make lunch or drive trucks whenever necessary.
George Ferrandi (Sunbury, PA & NYC) is the artist behind Jump!Star who has been developing participatory projects with communities around the world since 2015.
